Prepwork

Only one thing is more fun to do in 110 degrees than riding: changing tires.
...Well, it also part of this sport.

All nice and balanced. Remember, new tires are slippery until they break-in.

The cruiser highway pegs look really, really ugly and awkward on the GS. What can I do? We are going to ride long stretches of pavement in California.

The handlebar raiser should eliminate the terrible back pain I used to get after the 4th day on a longer ride. Time will tell if it works..

BMW R1200RT interrogation.

Everything looks great... at least on the computer screen.

The most cumbersome part of motorcycle travel: packing. We try to pack light this year. Something we could never achieve in earlier trips.

These guys kept wondering if they could join the California tour. They have never been on a motorcycle before. We'll discuss the options with them.
